About Technology Solutions

Like most great businesses Technology Solutions began in a gargage during the summer of 1995 in Seneca, SC. It was a part time venture by Richard Ellison and his business partner Stan Smith. They had discovered an opportunity in technology sales and service after a combined 30 years at Duke Energy in information technology. By 2000, the two set out on their own and were working on the venture full-time.

Today, the company has grown significantly and continues to do so. Technology Solutions provides services including multi-dwelling unit managed networks, data center services, low voltage wiring and local office IT support. Industries served include: retail, manufacturing, MDUs, hospitality, software development, medical, construction and more.

Richard Ellison

CEO & Founder

Richard Ellison is CEO and founder of Technology Solutions. Richard has managed the company since its inception in 1995. Prior to his current role, Richard spent 20 years at Duke Energy corporation within IT as technician, consultant, project and department manager. He holds a bachelor's degree in Management from Southern Wesleyan University as well as an Associate's Degree in Nuclear Engineering. Outside of work, he enjoys woodworking, rebuilding performance cars and flying.

Ben Ellison

Vice President

Ben Ellison serves as Vice President of Technology Solutions. He is responsible for setting the company's vision and strategic direction including oversight of daily operations. He holds a BSBA in International Business and Economics from the University of South Carolina. He still enjoys programming with JavaScript—both server- and client-side—when he can find the time. While not at the office, he enjoys Charlotte Hornets basketball, Gamecock football, hiking and adventure travel to off-the-wall locations.
